Activity based costing (ABC) assigns manufacturing overhead costs to products in a more logical manner than the traditional approach of simply allocating costs on the basis of machine hours. Activity based costing first assigns costs to the activities that are the real cause of the overhead. It then assigns the cost of those activities only to the products that are actually demanding the activities.

The answer seems correct as it uses Activity base costing. This is usually used for overhead allocation method. The question targeted at how the cost of products is derived. Usually this means either the job costing or process costing. Job costing is whereby each product is unique and different from another, example carpentry, tailor clothes etc. Whereby process costing are products that are similar to one another. Example coca cola. ABC costing comes into the picture on the overhead allocation. When it comes to the calculation of the costs that are incurred for the purposes of manufacturing the product, there are many of the overhead costs that are included when calculating the same.
