Assignment:

Chris is on his regular visit today and he has told you that he is thinking about ending his life because he is not coping anymore. He has previously told you he has a gun and bullets because he is a member of his local gun club

Chris is 31 year old and has just returned from two tours of combat in Iraq. Chris is married to Stacey and they have three children - Ella 9, Robert 7 and Krystelle 2. Chris has been discharged from the armed forces and has been working in an office for the past 2 years.

Chris has panic attacks. Chris has been meeting with you as he lacks motivation and often feels angry. You have been working with him on strategies to manage stress and anxiety. Chris cries constantly through the session and lacks eye contact, but is able to express his emotional distress of the situation, but tends to get frustrated and angry.

Chris has stated to you that he has not attempted to commit suicide but he often thinks of it. He has felt very low and feels "life is not worth living like this".
