  2. Discuss Indigenous methods for teaching, learning and sharing knowledge.

 

 

Part- 4

Complete a brief essay response to each of these questions.

  1. Discuss some of the challenges of integrating Indigenous knowledge into systems of education.
  2. Describe the common curriculum framework and the First Nations, Métis and Inuit education policy framework. Discuss how these initiatives may contribute to Indigenous education in systems of education.

 

Part-5

 

Complete a brief essay response to each of these questions:

  1. Discuss elements critical to the "naturalizing" of Indigenous knowledge as introduced by McLeod, Little Bear and Taiaiake.
  2. Based on the online project "Aboriginal Issues in the Classroom," identify issues that may have arisen for you as a student while taking this course. Share your understanding of the issues and discuss strategies you employed towards resolving any issues that may have arisen for you as a learner.

Part-6

The final research essay will allow you to further develop a particular interest in any one of the issues raised in the course. You will be expected to incorporate references from outside the course material into the final essay. Essay length should be no more than 10-12 pages double-spaced including references. You may choose your final research topic based on material presented in the course, however should check with the instructor regarding the appropriateness of the choice for this course. You are reminded not to choose essay topics or submit essays they have completed for other courses or at other universities.
