Assignment:

Using the CNO Code of Conduct (2023), as a guide, students will refer to Principle 4. "Nurses work respectfully with the health care team to best meet clients' needs" (p. 10) to develop a list of three (3) expectations (ground rules) describing behaviours that they would expect to be upheld by all PN Program student members to promote learning effectiveness and the basis for respectful relationships. Each student must provide a rationale for inclusion of these rules reflecting on their own personal examples, beliefs, values, and expectations for behaviours from self and peers and connections to their future nursing role. This assignment should represent a personalized perspective of why the CNO Code of Conduct matters as a student of Practical Nursing and as a future professional nurse.

Criteria for Assessment:

Using the CNO Code of Conduct, Principle 4 as a guide, students will:

• Describe three (3) behavioural expectations (ground rules) to be upheld by self and peers based on the CNO Code of Conduct, Principle 4.

• Provide rationale to support described behaviours from self and peers by referring to own beliefs, values, and personal examples.
