Assignment:

An industry analysis is a business function conducted by business owners and other individuals to assess their respective business environments. Michael Porter's 5 competitive forces is one tool, which can be used to conduct an industry analysis.

The Assignment: Select a local industry (e.g. banking, fast food retail, baking, etc.) in Jamaica with a focus on one player (firm) within that industry and do the following.

(a) Give an overview of the player (firm) in terms of its vision, mission, product offered, target market, years of existence)

(b) Describe any four competitors in this industry

(c) Give details of the intensity of rivalry among the players (firms) in this industry.

(d) Describe the buying behaviours of buyers in this industry and their bargaining power if possible.

(e) Describe the suppliers in this industry and their bargaining power if possible.

(f). Give details of the existence of substitute products that are available to the market.
