BSBINN601 Lead and manage organisational change
You must develop, for a business organisation, a change process that provides appropriate benefits for the organisation. You need to show that you can initiate, manage and implement change procedures in a work organisation.
1. Describe the business organisation and its core business.
2. Explain where you will make changes and why.
3. What information did you gather and analyse when identifying the changes that need to be made?
4. From what sources did it come?
5. Outline the rationale for the change, the change objectives, the procedures to be followed and the expected benefits of the change.
6. How will you manage, resource and implement the change?
7. What reporting, monitoring and review protocols will you follow?
Develop, document and present a completed change management project plan. Answer all of the questions and submit the plan and your answers.
If you are not working develop a scenario for a fictional business. Describe the business and what it does then address the assessment project questions. The business could be a private or a not-for-profit organisation.
Alternative assessment
If you are currently employed in a position where you are able to implement organisational change, to assist with assessment, and if you can verify that these are entirely your own work, you might submit any of the following:
o written reports on change and change management in the organisation for which you work
o a portfolio of evidence showing that you can plan changes, conduct risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses and communicate change requirements to others
o third party workplace reports of on-the-job performance
o performance review results
o written reviews relating to changes that you have prepared and implemented
o change management project plans that you have developed or actively participated in developing
o communication or education plans that you have developed or actively participated in the development of and that will support change management
o records outlining consultation with relevant groups and individuals for input to change processes
o records of presentations made to stakeholders to inform them of impending changes or to ensure ongoing support for change procedures
Your assessor will determine how well this documentation meets the assessment requirements and will ask you a series of verbal questions relating to the documentation and the organisation for which you work. The assessor will document your responses to any verbal questions.
BSBMGT617 - Develop And Implement a Business Plan
This project will enable you to demonstrate skill and underpinning knowledge, and produce end products suitable for use in the work place. (If you are not working you will need to discuss, with your assessor, how you can address this as a simulation or possibly how you can address it in terms of a company for which you have previously worked.)
You must develop a business plan.
The plan must be clearly articulated and formatted in such a way that makes it acceptable to the business organisation. It must contain all of the necessary elements and must be informed by accurate, current, relevant and useful data/ information. Graphs, charts, tables etc can be used and any information that is relevant but not necessarily required for inclusion in the plan can be included in an appendix.
The plan could apply to the business as a whole; specific aspects of the business, or to a proposed new venture.
Submit, to your assessor, the completed business plan, relevant risk and cost-benefit analyses and brief answers to the following questions:
1. What concepts and ideas were considered?
2. How did you identify the resources that would be required to support plan?
3. What personnel would be involved in the planning process?
4. What data/ information did you use when formulating the plan?
5. With whom did you consult and why did you consult with these people?
6. From what sources did you gather data/ information?
7. How did you verify the currency, reliability and usefulness of the data/ information you collected?
8. How will the plan benefit the business?
9. How will you communicate this plan to other personnel in the business and how will you ensure that they support the plan?
10. Will the plan make any differences to the skills and competencies required by employees; and if it does, what action will you take?
11. How will the plan contribute to continuous improvement?
Alternative assessment
If you are currently employed, to assist with assessment, and if you can verify that these are entirely your own work, you might submit any of the following:
o a business plan that you have written
o data you have collected and analysed for contribution to a business plan
o organisational performance reports that are mapped against planned business objectives
o the results of SWOT or other research and planning activities
o market research that you have undertaken
o a portfolio of evidence showing a range of business planning activities in which you were involved, and their outcomes
o third party workplace reports of on-the-job performance-to show that you are able to effectively develop and implement business plans
Your assessor will determine how well this documentation meets the assessment requirements and will ask you a series of verbal questions relating to the continuous improvement and to any legislation applicable to your business organisation.
BSBFIM601 - Manage Finances
This is a series of practical and theory activities that will enable you to demonstrate skill and knowledge-and produce end products suitable for use in the work place.
Evidence collected as a result of workplace observation will support this assessment.
Address each of these:
For the business in which you work you need to prepare a budget. The budget must align with the business plan.
1. Describe the business and its core operations.
2. Explain what data you would use to inform the budget and why this data would be relevant.
3. Who else would you involve in developing the budget?
4. Draw up the budget to cover the next financial year.
5. Explain how the budget would be used to monitor the financial performance of the organisation.
6. List and explain the application of statutory and legislative requirements as they apply to financial management within a business organisation.
7. Write a report explaining how the budget that you have developed contributes to financial management.
8. Present this report verbally in order to demonstrate your communication skills as well as the ability to explain budgets and deal with questions.
9. Analyse the existing financial management approaches of the organisation. Are there any recommendations you should make and what are they?
10. What software packages/ programs have you used when developing the budget and how did these assist?
Submit:
o the budget-with appropriate explanations about its implementation
o answers to the questions
o the report on how the budget contributes to financial management
o the report on how effective current financial management approaches are If you are not working develop a scenario for an imaginary business. Describe the business and what it does then address the assessment project questions. The business could be a private or a not-for-profit organisation.
