COMPREHENSIVE REFLECTION PAPER ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
Comprehensive Reflection Paper containing three parts as a collective reflection
Part I: Soteriological Implications and Priesthood Believer
Considering Spurgeon's conversion and Puritan heritage, describe his understanding of salvation and the Christian's call to serve Christ and bring others to Him. What does Scripture give as to the gospel and its meaning of both justification and sanctification being issued in the call to trust and follow Christ? How did this influence Spurgeon's Priesthood of the Believer understanding and the potential he saw in each believer; how should this influence every church leader as they work with believers? (This part of the paper should be 1000.)
Part II: Church Leaders' View of Laity and Them Being Leaders
From the biblical principles and precepts studied in your School of Divinity classes and especially this course, explain how your perspective of the laity has changed. Healthy churches are led by church leaders who understand and know how to help members grow and become leaders in Christ's work. Give Scripture principles and applications you will follow to confidently work with and develop the laity to become leaders in Christ's work. (This part of the paper should be 600)
Part III: Church Leaders and Church Extending Christ's Kingdom
Church leaders invest in members to help them become leaders who will be examples of Godly, disciple-making (making new disciples and strengthening existing ones). Define and describe the biblical culture necessary in a local church to help members see themselves as ministers and missionaries: give five to eight well defined practices you will develop and use in your ministry to help members be ministers and missionaries. Write this envisioning the ministry role you anticipate filling as a Christian leader. (This part of the paper should be 1000).
