Rhetoric is the art of language. It can change minds and impress people of all kinds. In this regard, rhetoric is planned out ahead of time and can be very technical. With this kind of effect, it is useful to communicate the type of communication that is directive or goal orientated. Another way this could be described is the art of persuasion, the purpose of convincing someone of something.
