My second activity will be about animals and sounds. Children are naturally attracted to the noises and movements they can create. Therefore, activity #2 will be centered around animals.

2.Watch the video "Thinking Big Extending Emergent Curriculum Projects" and briefly summarize what emergent curriculum projects are and how after watching this video, what are 3 ideas you will use to enhance your second expansion activity.

3.Describe how you plan to go about this particular activity, including the "invitation" - how you will set up the activity and engage children's interest, and how you will organize space, materials, and time. How many children will you be able to manage? What materials will you need? What particular challenges do you have to consider? (For example, if you are painting with toddlers, how will you manage smocks, paint, washing hands, etc.) You need to go into detail about your exact activity, do not use broad ideas, but specifics for your activity. This will be in paragraphs

4.Developmental learning goals for planned activity- Explain each learning goal for all the domains listed: Social emotional, language & literacy, cognitive, gross motor & fine motor (for example, Language and literature-Demonstrates awareness that pictures represent people or things; this developmental learning goal will be exercised as the children look at the recipe cards that show the recipe drawn out in pictures).

5.Environment enrichment- What would you add to each classroom area to enhance learning promoting emergent curriculum: Block area, House area, Sensory area, Dress up area, Outdoor environment, Table activities, Library, Circle time (for example, Circle time- create a chart of who likes different foods made with pumpkin, each child can make marks if they like the food, then you can make a bar graph to see which food was most liked). Make sure to address each classroom area even circle time. This will be in paragraphs
