A 27-year-old P1 presents to you with a history of painful periods. She tells you the pain has been present for 3 years now and has worsened over the last 4 months. The pain is felt in her lower abdomen and back and lasts for 3 days. She takes paracetamol but it does not seem to help much. She has to miss work on the two days when the pain is at its maximum.
