Respond to the 4 discussion questions pertaining to three news articles featuring conditions in ADOC prison facilities, as well as the corresponding weeks-long work stoppage that just ended this week. Both articles - one from the British newspaper The Guardian and one from the esteemed magazine The New Yorker - offer an investigation into the conditions within ADOC prisons that ostensibly prompted the work stoppage.

Question A. Based on your reading of the articles, describe some of the supposed inhumane treatment/conditions that inmates face within Alabama prisons in general, and Limestone Correctional Facilityin particular.

Question B. In your opinion, do these acts/conditions constitute inhumane treatment? Why or why not?

Question C. In your estimation, why are these supposed instances of abuse occurring with such regularity in Alabama in general, and Limestone Correctional Facility in particular? Relatedly, why are these issues not occurring at such a high frequency at facilities in other states?

Question D. Moving forward, how have leaders at the state and federal level plan on dealing with these claims of mistreatment and abuse? Put yourself in the position of John Hamm, Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Corrections. How would you deal with these issues?
