Figure 11.32 shows the basin of a typical washing machine filled with clothes. The basin spins about its axis and rotates about the pivot point at its center. When balanced, it stays level and simply spins about its axis. However, you may have experienced imbalance during the spin cycle, when it sounds like the basin will break through the machine. Figure 11.32b shows such a situation.
