I grew up with tenson between my dad and myself. I grew up in Indiana He was always very masculine and loved sports and could not understand or relate to me being gay. He also never knew to the extent that I got bullied and beat up growing up in school because I was afraid to talk about it but my parents always knew that something was wrong but couldn't figure out exactly what was going on. This is all my fault for not being able to talk about it. To top it off I was at odds with dad who I worked for after high school. He owned his own business painting and cleaning apartments as well as renovating section 8 properties to sell. After he sold the properties he continued to do maintenance on the properties for years after the buyers purchased the properties and I felt that was not only buyers taking advantage of dad I could see how much effort and time that he put into this and never into helping me emotionally. Again this was all my fault for not being able to talk about it. Dad's kindness and inability to say no was his weakness. Around the same time my grandma who was my support got killed in a tragic accident. Even though I didn't share all of the details with her I told her that no one liked me growing up so she was always there for me. I finally decided at age 23 to move to NY and never talk to dad again. I needed to start a new life and my memories growing up in Indiana were so terrible. I was so excited to start a new beginning and to be able to not look behind to the past bad experiences.
