The related policy of the agency is diversity. It is the policy of St. Mary Medical Center and FIGH is one of the St. Mary Medical Center departments. The diversity policy is carried out to all its programs and activities. The policy is as the following:

Not to exclude, deny benefits, or discriminate against any clients, participants, employees, beneficiaries, applicants and people with disabilities.
Not based on race, color, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity and expression.
All community members have equal access to receive services, benefits of any programs, activities as well in employment.

According to Jansson (2018) the social problems refer to children in poverty household, underserved minority populations, LBGTQ population, seniors, low social economic populations, discrimination and lack affordable housing resources. The policy appears to address many of the social problems.
