Assessment - Group Project Simulation: Project Risk Management Methods

Assessment Task

You will create groups of five (5)
You are going to participate in a simulation of a "Stakeholder Management Meeting"
The team will be undertaking a project based on case study that will be provided at the start of the class
The meeting will cover the following areas of discussion

Justify the analytics project in a general sense and explain and general style in which the project will be managed (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, Github or other)

Explain aspects of the case study industry and what data you will obtain from the industry and the case study company customers

Describe how you will use predictive project analytics to examine the risk of the project
Explain the benefit of AI in the case study business

Your project management team roles are:

Business lead (understands management styles)

Industry expert with marketing analytics experience

Risk Analytics officer (understands predictive project analytics)

Artificial Intelligence specialist (understands the benefits of AI)

Executive of the company (understands business strategy and funding of projects)

Your team has been invited to the first of many stakeholder meetings. The meeting includes an important stakeholder:

You will present it to the company executive and address their concerns.

The executive is responsible for asking questions and probing the teams analysis and plan

Part A: Written Paper - Identifying Issues

In your group of five (5) you will be given 40 minutes to discuss and write dot points on the project.

As a group make a dot point list of the points you will discuss (from above) and stakeholder concerns in Microsoft word and submit to Turnitin on MyKBS by the end of the 40 minutes
The paper will be 400-500 words
One group member needs to submit the final paper. The cover page for the submitted paper will show all team member names and student ID's.

Part B: In Person Meeting Simulation

Groups will then be given 20 minutes to develop a (10-minute) script based on their dot points of a meeting between the project team and the executive stakeholders
You will ACT THIS OUT in an 8 to 10-minute interaction
Please be as dramatic and realistic in your roles as possible, and try your best to convey the main points addressing the above issues
You can divide the tasks as you wish, although they will naturally fit better with some members than others
Have fun with it! (The executive could be demanding)
