Question: Remember back to the Class Café, where you were introduced to the idea of "the hero's journey." As part of the creation of any hero, a backstory is developed. Then the hero is launched onto a journey of discovery. Along the way, the hero encounters challenges and must overcome them in order to return home wiser.

You were asked to invent a backstory for yourself, perhaps an imaginary descent from someone famous or infamous, perhaps a revolutionary or an artist. In this final Discussion, you will connect a cultural expression of your choice to your own invented history and explain how it helps unlock that history. Additionally, you will connect the concepts of "diaspora" and "accretion" to your story, including how globalization of information may affect them.
