Question: We are in the part of this course titled "IT Service Design" in which IT is involved with stakeholders and end user departments and/or end consumers to ultimately provide IT services and applications that meet the strategic needs of the business. Some of these systems might involve major enterprise software categories like customer relationship management (CRM) systems, supply chain management (SCM) systems, or firm-wide systems called enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. QuickBooks for small businesses is one type of ERP system even though there are much larger offerings from PeopleSoft, SAP, NetERP, and many more!

Read about ERP, SCM and CRM systems (chapter 8 in your text) and do the following in two paragraphs (with a space between paragraphs to improve readability):

First Paragraph: Describe the systems you use in your workplace currently (or that you have used in a previous workplace) that have been upgraded or installed. Describe how the old systems did not meet your needs in your workplace. Once the system was upgraded or installed, did it perform as expected?

Second Paragraph: Interview a friend or family member and have that person describe the systems in use in his/her workplace currently or in the past that have been upgraded or installed. Describe how the old systems did not meet the needs of your interviewee in the workplace. Once the system was upgraded or installed, did it perform as expected?
