Case Study: "Canada West Plumbing and Heating" (CWPH), provides both commercial and residential plumbing and heating products as well as services. For residential heating, they install the "Heat Home - 897" (HH897) furnace, but since COVID-19 in 2000, the company has had some challenges with supply and labour shortages. As a result, it has impacted their business. For example, the HH - 897, CWPH is finding that one important component, a regulator switch made by another company, is in short supply. This switch is important for the installation, as it makes the heater work by activating the fan to blow air. CWPH's Operations Manager came up with a possible solution that they could produce their own regulator switch. They installed it in a few furnaces. However, after a couple of months, customers are complaining that the furnace does not turn off.
