In the scenario, justice refers to the fairness and equity in the distribution of resources and opportunities. It involves ensuring that students needs and circumstances are considered. Fairness would mean that the academic advisor would find a resolution that acknowledges the student's need to work while also acknowledging the academic challenges. Equality in this scenario would imply that the student is provided with equal opportunities and support as other students. However, equity in this scenario would mean that the student is given resources and the help they need to cater their own circumstances.
B. Describe how bias can influence your perception of social justice in the scenario.
Bias can influence our perception of social justice. The academic advisor may not understand the financial constraints the student is facing and therefore suggested that the student leave their part-time job. Some students don't the luxury to be able to focus on just school and extracurricular activities due to financial circumstances. It is important for the academic advisor to challenge their bias for the student to receive a fair and just solution according to their circumstance.

Different narratives in society can impact our perception of social justice in many ways. These narratives can be cultural and economic which can shape how individuals view the student's situation and the solution.The cultural background of the academic advisor and student can impact their perspectives on work, education, and financial responsibility. With different cultural background comes different obligations.
D. Describe the core principles of social justice in the scenario.
The five core principles of social justice are access to resources, equity, participation, diversity, and human rights. In this scenario access to resources plays a crucial role in the student's ability to navigate through their academic and personal challenges. The student doesn't have the luxury of leaving their part-time job as the academic advisor advised and may not have access to the financial resources they need.
