For example, saying "I want to be healthier" is not an effective goal since the term "healthier" has no specific definition. Also, avoid using words like "more" or "less" unless you also define what you mean by how much more or less. Finally, your goal should be time-oriented and realistic. For example, the number of minutes and days per week you plan to walk. You might say; "My goal is to develop consistency in my workouts walking at least 40 minutes 3x per week and to decrease my timed 1.5-mile run by 2 minutes going from 23:20 to under 21 minutes." Then offer a short explanation of how you plan to accomplish this.
