Case Study: Amina is a 75-year-old Lebanese-American patient was brought to the ER for a CVA. She lost vision and developed weakness on the right side of her body when she woke up on the morning of her ER visit. Amina has limited English fluency-she reports understanding some English words but had great challenges speaking English. Like many Asian-Americans in the neighborhood where she lived, Amina rarely left the neighborhood apart from her annual trips to Beirut, Lebanon, to visit her relatives. Therefore, she had maintained an Arabic-speaking existence and Middle Eastern traditions.
