Describe emerging regional and global health patterns that you observed. From information gathered on these countries previously, Albania in contrast to Argentina is underdeveloped and impoverished. In Argentina, a specific city by the name of Cordoba has been putting in the effort to provide universal health coverage through a decentralized network of primary and secondary clinics and hospitals (Child Family Health International n.d.). Even though the website, there are ways to take seminars and classes. These classes better inform the community on the government's efforts to provide care to those without insurance. Webinars on key topics including laboratory methods, surveillance, infection protection, all ramped up the health service for every region (Child Family Health International n.d.).
In Albania, the government is taking an approach to increase financial output towards health care, mental health centres, and supported homes. An increase in spending will lead to new technology in hospitals, which will also cause investments in public health to increase.
Describe ongoing or apparently "unsolvable" global health problems that you observed. Unsolvable health problems seem to be in women's health in both Argentina but especially in Albania. Abortion in Albania has been legal since 1992, meanwhile, Argentina recently had a women's rally in support of the right to abort. The birthrate in Albania is high yet failing and there is little to no access to contraceptives or sex education considering circumstances. It is as if there is a fight when it comes to the health of women, and it is not all healthcare provided by the government that helps. Another unsolvable global health problem is lung cancer in Albania. Lung cancer is the most common and most fatal of all cancers in Albania; an estimated 26.2% of the population smoke tobacco (Mclntyre & Are, 2016). If tobacco is taken away, the economy will then rebuttal, even if it is made illegal people will still have access since tobacco can be grown.
Describe the similarities and differences of the economic, social, cultural, and/or political challenges that you observed.
Albania being underdeveloped, also is lacking in education when compared to Argentina. Mental health, poverty, and mortality are debilitating factors in the country. Women couldn't even have their family or husband's present during childbirth. The coverage for healthcare in Albania for citizens during communism copied the Soviet-type model and was free of charge (Mclntyre & Are, 2016). Politically, under Hoxha's rule, the nutrition of Albania became scarce and infant mortality increase. Argentina, educationally, is in good standing and near top tear "with an enrollment of 90 per cent (Mclntyre & Are, 2016). Argentina's economy is expected to expand by nearly 7 per cent this year due to exports in soybeans (Child Family Health International n.d.). Yet there is also a fluctuation because of the reduction in monetary freedom. Albania's economy has shifted from a centralized economy to a market-based economy but is still struggling. Similarly, both Argentina and Albania are experiencing unrest socially, protesting on health care, women's rights, violence and police brutality.
Describe the global health commonalities between the two countries you researched and those your peers researched.
Some commonalities I noticed between the countries are that every country needs to do a little more to help its citizens get better care. Each country struggles with heart-related issues, obesity, HIV, and other chronic diseases. Hence there should be a collaboration between nations on how to tackle such chronic diseases.
