Question: Country Culture Brief and presentation on an MNC (45% of grade)

This final assignment is due and presented during the last day of class. It has two parts:

Part I: Write a maximum of 700 words on the culture of a country of your choice. The India brief, which will be read and discussed in class 1, can be used as a template on what information to include in your brief.

Part II: Using no more than 15 slides, design a 10-minute presentation on an MNC from the same country above and discuss the following key points of the MNC:

• A brief history: how the company began, the founder(s), current CEO/leader, mission statement, original location, number of locations, number of employees, captivating stories, latest headlines, trending up or down (growth, stagnant, losing market share);

• Globalization: explain the global supply chain and the effect on the communities surrounding the MNC;

• Organizational culture: Explain what the organization's culture is like, if the MNC's organizational culture in one country's facility differs sharply from organizational cultures in other country's facilities; discuss challenges if any;

• Ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability: CSR initiative, ethical issues such as human rights/environmental violations, greenwashing, certifications, sustainability initiative if any;

• Human Resources: selection criteria and recruitment process, employee integration and training programs, employee motivational strategies; employee satisfaction (why or why not?);

• Leadership: style of leadership and management practices.
