Assignment Instructions

Construct a pedigree chart.
Construct a pedigree using your family members. Use pedigree symbols.

1. Select one trait or characteristic to construct a pedigree. You can use traits like (example: sickle cell, diabetes, etc etc) that may run in your family.

2. Diagram atleast three to four generations of your family using the pedigree symbols, indicate generations using roman numerals

3. Use squares for males and circles for woman

4. Use a legend or key to describe different symbols or phenotypes in your pedigree. Example: colored in square for males with dimples, or colored in circle for females without dimples.

5. indicate where you are on pedigree

6. Identify the pattern of inheritance (example: autosomal dominance) and write what you think it is in the legend or key
