After viewing the 2 videos on treating alcohol use disorders and substance use disorders, discuss the patient's motivation level for change that you observe in both videos, noting the particular stage of change as described in Prochaska and DiClemente's model (Precontemplation, Contemplation, etc.) that they are in. Further describe any techniques that you observe the therapist using as outlined by Miller and Rollnick in their FRAMES elements of therapeutic techniques (Feedback, Responsibility, etc). Finally, describe any differences you note between the treatment in the videos and the treatments outlined in the textbook chapters for these disorders.
