Questions: This week, we covered conflict and negotiations. Conflict is a disagreement that arises when two or more parties perceive a threat to their interests, needs, or concerns. Some conflict situations produce nothing positive. Other conflict situations, however, may be beneficial if they are used as instruments for change or innovation. In your initial post, address the following:

  • Reflect on a time in school or at work when a group of which you were a part of experienced dysfunctional conflict. Describe the conflict and the impact it had on group cohesion and productivity.
  • Then discuss which conflict management style was used to resolve the conflict. If the conflict was not resolved, discuss which conflict management style should have been used to resolve the conflict.
