Assignment:

The children and their educator are singing songs during small group time. So far, all of the songs that the educator is choosing are slow in tempo (like lullabies) and new to the children (they have not heard them before). Even though the songs are meant to be sung while sitting down; the children begin to get up and jump around. The educator continues to sing one of these new slow songs in a soft and quiet voice. Now the children are all up and jumping, and one child bumps into another child, they both fall down and begin to cry. The educator finally sees what is happening and yells "Stop children, sit right now and listen to my new song!" Most of the children keep jumping, except for the two who had accident, they are both still crying. Analyze the problem by describing all that the child may be trying to express with their behaviour. Next describe what it is they may need from you. You may have multiple ideas for both. Remember you are still brainstorming.
