Describe how the British empiricists (Locke, Berkeley, and Hume) and their views of how knowledge is acquired culminated in Hume's skepticism.

Explain how Kant's theory helped him to overcome Hume's skepticism and allows us to have empirical knowledge.

Kantian Moral Theory

Utilitarian Moral Theory

Describe the three formulations of Kant's categorical imperative. Apply his guiding principle to a moral dilemma.

Explain Mills' greatest happiness principle and apply that to a moral dilemma. Refer to the specific moral philosophers involved in the development of Utilitarian moral theory.

· Option 2 is to complete the assignment as a dialogue between one of the three philosophers, Kierkegaard, Marx, or Nietzsche toKant or Mills.
