Please watch this segment of a video on the life of a Big Man (1 minute; 25 seconds; closed captioning is available) in Papua New Guinea. Big Men are one of the most important forms of tribal leadership in New Guinea. They manage to achieve a level of political authority and power while maintaining a degree of economic egalitarianism in the community.

For this assignment, I want to think about how Big Men are able to do this based on what you learned in the video segment and from chapter 7 of HUMANS UNMASKED. You should be prepared to write approximately one paragraph (i.e., 4 or more sentences). In that paragraph, you need to (1) describe how Big Men achieve political power and (2) how this power is rooted in their economic endeavors (like feasts and trade).
