Paragraph 1: Proper name of product and company; not a nickname. For example: Tide Pods by Proctor & Gamble. Include pictures if you're handy with uploading/inserting images. Provide a product description of the selected product, any relevant history or reason for why you chose the product.

Paragraph 2: Describe the key marketing strategies behind your selected product. You should base your evaluation and report on what you can observe about how the four Ps are applied to the product you chose. You must explain how the following are applied to your product

  • Product: Into which consumer product category (from text) does your product fit? Describe the want or need your product addresses. Has the company recently changed the product in any way and if so how?
  • Place: Which marketing channel from the textbook does this product use? Describe all the places (types of stores, online sources, trades hows, craft fairs etc.) where customers can find this product. How easy or hard is it ot find it or buy it?
  • Pricing: Describe the apparent pricing strategy in relation to competitors and substitute products. A good description would include observations about the closest competitive product and its relative pricing. What conclusions can you come to about your product's competitiveness based on the pricing?
  • Promotion: Describe how the product is being communicated to customers. What specific methods of the promotion mix are being used? Include any obvious physical/in-store promotions, flyers, coupons, social media, online advertising, social media, etc.

Paragraph 3: Do some research to find out how the competitive climate and technology has affected your product in recent years. Share what you learned and how the company responded to keep their product successful. How has their 4 P's strategy helped them be successful?
