Objective: To describe and discuss the molecules of life on cardiovascular disease. Learning about macromolecules is important to understanding living organisms. All living organisms are characterized by the presence of four major classes of macromolecules: proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. These macromolecules are often called the molecules of life. In your lab you will be learning about cardiovascular and heart anatomy and function. So in this week's topic we will be discussing the effects on a macromolecule (protein) on heart and cardiovascular health. Here is your discussion topic for the week: Imagine you are a nutrition scientist, and you are interested in a the short-term or (long-term) consumption of fast foods on heart health. You decide to evaluate a popular diet trend known as a the "fast food diet." Do you think it is a good or bad idea? Convince me in your response.
