Question: The take home exam consists of an individually written paper. In the paper you should discuss the design of a social scientific study of own choosing, preferably connected to the thesis. The task is to:

1. Define an IMER relevant topic to study

2. Create relevant research question(s)

3. Chose, describe and discuss a research design that can help you answer the question

4. Chose, describe and discuss a method that can help you answer the question

5. Chose, describe and discuss a material that can help you answer the question

6. On the basis of questions 1-5, discuss the validity and reliability, ethical concerns, and how you intend to use theory (induction/deduction)

7. From a perspective of philosophy of science discuss epistemological and ontological questions connected to questions 1-6).

8. The paper must include relevant references from the course literature and could include sources of your own choice.

9. Include a list of at least 20 academic references (journal articles, book chapters, and books) related to your topic (this includes the references you use for answering 1-8). The list must correct, be consistent in format, and use italics in a correct way.

All nine aspects are considered when grading your exam, including the reference list.

The take home exam should be handed in in Canvas.

Your paper should be between 1500 - 2000 words. Write the word counts at the end of the paper. The referencesare not included in the word count. Write your name and personal number on every page of the paper. Your paper must be written in an academic style, complete with references and literature list.
