Question: Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.

At the end of the summer when I was 17, I became a math teacher in an educational center. Becoming a math teacher was a special position that only one person in the class could hold. I was happy and worried about the future. Of course, life as a teacher while you're still a student yourself was mentally taxing. Before I became a teacher, I had been thinking about becoming a regular and improving myself, but after I became a teacher, my life took a complete turn and I had to think about my students first. I had no time to think about myself.

To develop this class into a winning class, I first held a team meeting. I made sure to train the inner workings of the class, such as the importance of math in life and how much we use it in our daily life, and then I talked to the members about how to do better in math and how to make math interesting rather than being boring.

After teaching math for a month, we were informed that there was a competition between different classes of the same level of math. In the first competition we attempted, we made it through the first class competition, but failed to win the second class competition, which was a frustrating result despite our efforts. To find the cause of this, I asked the students to stay 30 minutes extra and they agreed, analyzed them to work with each other in that 30 minute extra time, and introduced interviews and tools to record the status of the students. As a result, I discovered that students struggled because of less practice, which affected the class losing rate. To solve this problem, I decided that we needed to improve the quality of our lessons and practice as much as we could, so I negotiated with the educational center manager to let us stay extra time in class and practice where the students are struggling . As a result, I succeeded in reducing the students' overall struggles rate by 30% from the previous term. In the last competitions, we made it succed the second class for the first time. We didn't come out on top, but I still remember the excitement we felt when we made it through the second competition. To have served as a teacher to the best of my ability is a treasure in my life.
