Question - Alex & Company (Alex) is a medium-sized firm that has audited the financial statements of XYZ Company (XYZ) for the year ended 30 June 2015 and issued a clean audit opinion. XYZ declared bankruptcy in December 2015. A group of investors who bought XYZ's shares between July and December 2015, sued Alex under common law for negligence by stating that Alex failed to properly assess going concern status of XYZ during the audit of the year ended 30 June 2015.
