A. The following is used for the assessment of SO a (An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering): Problem 1. Determine the force exerted on q2 by qi if qi = 3 x 10-4 C and q2 = -10-4 C and are located at point A(1, 2, 3) and point B(2, 0, 5), respectively.

B. The following is used for the assessment of SO c (An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability):
Problem 2. Describe a universal design technique to match the impedance of an antenna to the  transmission line. Compare the practical aspects of this design technique with the other ones. Apply this technique to match an antenna of 40 + j30 SI to a 100-0 lossless transmission line.

C. The following is used for the assessment of SO e (An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems): Problem 3. Use energy considerations to find the equivalent capacitance of the overall capacitor described in the following figure. Show that C = Ci + C2 where Ci = ciAddi and C2 = c2A2/d2. Draw the equivalent circuit.

D. The following is used for the assessment of SO i (A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning):
Problem 4. A coil consists of 100 turns of wire wrapped around a square frame of sides 0.25 m. The coil is centered at the origin with each of its sides parallel to the x- or y-axis. Find the induced emf across the open-circuited ends of the coil if the magnetic field is given by

E. The following is used for the assessment of SO k (An ability to use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice): Problem 5. Using Matlab, find the total charge in a volume described in cylindrical coordinates as 0.0 < r < 2.0 m, 0 < (I) < it, and -2.0 m < z < 2.0 m, if pv = 4 Sincl)/r C/m3.
