Briefly describe a time you, or someone you know was a victim of a crime. This could be a small crime like larceny, or a larger crime like assault. (Don't feel pressured to share super personal details here). Did you (or anyone) report the crime to the police? Why or why not?

Based on our readings, if the crime had been reported to the police, would it have been reported to the UCR? Would it have been reported on NIBRS? Why or why not?

Finally, if you were contacted by the NCVS survey to discuss the crime, would you be willing to discuss it with the data collector? Why or why not? Can you think of any crimes that you would feel uncomfortable reporting to police, and/or discussing with the NCVS people via phone survey?
