Communications for Nursing Assignment - Case Study and Analysis

Purpose - Communication is an essential skill that you must demonstrate in order to provide safe, high-quality patient care. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your ability to apply knowledge of communication to your nursing practice.

Part 1: The Case Study (3 pages. double spaced)

1. Select a topic from the list below that will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge regarding nursing communication:

2. Describe a situation related to your chosen topic. The situation should:

Part 2 - Case Study Analysis (5 pages, double spaced)

1. Describe and analyze the problem(s) presented in your case study. What occurred and why?

2. Present solution(s) to the problem(s) and how they could be implemented. What would you do as a nurse in the case study?

3. Apply related knowledge to your analysis and solutions. Consider discussing the following topics if they are applicable to your case study:

Effective communication strategies
Cultural influences on communication

4. Use a minimum of two scholarly references to support your statements (e.g. textbook, peer-renewed journal article, reputable website, etc..,)
