A small ball with mass m is attached to a string, which goes over a pulley and makes a small angle swing. The length of both vertical and horizontal portions of the string is L. The gravitational acceleration is g.

a) Derive the period of this simple pendulum. (small angle)

b) Release the ball from 30 degreeaway from vertical, find the string tension as a function of angle.
