The structure shown (Figure P5.32) is fabricated by welding together three pieces of square rod or tubing, each having the same cross-sectional area A, moment of inertia I, and modulus of elasticity E. Derive an expression for the deflection between the points where force is applied. Omit terms that are likely to be negligible but enumerate any such terms. (You may want to use symmetry.)
