Assessment - Case Study Team Report and Presentation
Overview
As a result of Covid19, the adoption of digital technology has further been accelerated and many companies who were holding back have since had no choice but to adopt a digital transformation strategy. Digitally driven businesses have seen rapid growth and increased revenue in recent times which in part is due to the evolution of technology and the especially the recent developments in the fourth industrial revolution.
Some sectors and industries have seen unprecedented growth in the use of digital technology because of the ease of use and convenience that it has to offer for its internal and external customers. These industries and sectors have also experienced the disruptive aspect of digital transformation whereby it has transformed contemporary methods of doing business to digitised and fully automated processes.
Learning Outcome 1: assess the value propositions for businesses and design business models to pursue digital transformation;
Learning Outcome 2: design and justify a digital transformation strategy for the organisations;
Learning Outcome 3: recognise and summarise the challenges and opportunities brought by contemporary disruptive digital technologies;
Learning Outcome 4: work in a team to experiment with new ideas and develop the business models for the digital future.
Assessment Details
This assignment has two parts. Students are required to write 2,500 words report on a specific case study and explain how digital transformation can be applied in a particular business context to drive change and innovation.
Part 2 require students to give a short 10 minutes presentation in week 11. Students will be required to present their project and get feedback from their Unit Coordinator or lecturer. To ensure that they are tracking well for their report submission, students must provide weekly updates during the lectorial and webinar of their progress.
Students are expected to work in teams of 4 and they must do their own research without unnecessary collaboration with any other group. No two groups will work on the same case or organisation and students are expected to prepare a comprehensive report on the application of their knowledge of digital transformation.
1. All report must include at least 10 academic reference which must be done using APA7 reference style.
2. The case study must assess the value propositions of the businesses and design business models to pursue digital transformation. It must highlight the justification for the digital transformation strategy taken by the organisation. It must highlight the challenges and opportunities that have arisen because of adopting the new technologies as well as any disruptive impact it might have had on the sector or industry. Teams must also highlight how new development and business models can be applied to ensure greater innovation and change for the digital future.
3. You are expected to clearly discuss different aspect of the chosen case study to discuss how these technology solutions contribute to enhancing innovation and change.

5. A passing grade will be awarded to assignments adequately addressing all assessment criteria. Higher grades require better quality and more effort. For example, a minimum is set on the wider reading required. A student reading vastly more than this minimum will be better prepared to discuss the issues in depth and consequently their report is likely to be of a higher quality. So before submitting, please read through the assessment criteria very carefully.
