In your last assignment, you built, tested, and reflected on the results of your first low-fidelity prototype For this assignment, you will build a second prototype, test it and record the results of those tests and reflect on the insights you gained. This second, higher-fidelity prototype, should be informed on what you learned during the first iteration of prototyping.
There are three sections to this assignment that should all be submitted as a single PDF document.
Part 1, building the prototype:
Describe what your prototype is, what it is meant to test or validate, and how it has evolved from your first prototype.
If you have a physical prototype, you will want to include pictures of what you built and a brief description of it and what it is meant to test. If it is digital, you will want to take screenshots and also describe what it is and is meant to test.
Part 2, Testing:
You will want to include the details of how you actually tested your prototype(how many people, when, where, what they were asked to do, how you facilitated it, etc.). If you tested in person, you will want some pictures of the actual testing taking place. If you tested virtually, screenshots of this or any accompanying survey, questionnaire or other docs used to test. You will want to include some aggregation of the results. The format of this is up to you but generally some sort of chart or graph to help tell the story of the data collected from testing.
Part 3, insights:
These are your reflections on the overall success of the prototype and testing. Success can mean many things, including that your initial assumptions were wrong. You would not want to continue down a road that is significantly flawed from the beginning. Some typical questions you want to answer are:
What did you learn from the building and testing of this prototype?
Were some of your assumptions validated, not validated?
Did you realize something new or different than you had originally anticipated or assumed? What do the results of testing this prototype mean for the validity of your concept and the next steps going forward?
What other things need to be tested?
If you were to do another iteration of prototyping, what would the next round of prototyping be?
What would it attempt to validate?
At this point, do you still think your concept is viable, feasible and desirable?
"FIRST PROTOTYPE"
Part 1: Building the prototype
Description
This basic prototype, which is a digital wireframe, demonstrates the user interaction and progression of a prospective automation tool designed for the software testing procedure.
Tools
The digital prototyping tool, Sketch, was utilized to create the wireframe, facilitating effortless editing and sharing.
Screens
The prototype consists of five different screens:
