For this assignment, you will be working in groups to solve a business problem, using the Rational Decision-Making Model. Specific guidelines are provided below. You will submit a video report when you finish the analysis.
There is an option to submit a written report for this assignment. If your group would like to submit a written report instead, use the other attachment for that option.
Detailed Guidelines for the Video Report
Your group should then select three or four episodes that are of interest to members. After watching the selected videos, choose one episode in which the business idea presented by the entrepreneur, was rejected by the Dragons.
I CHOSE EPISODE 1, SEASSON 13, LUCKY IRON FISH.
Note: All group members should help in choosing the episode for the assignment
Once all group members agree on the video to use, follow the steps below to analyze the business idea rejected by the Dragons, and then create a video report for submission.
Here're the requirements for your video Report:
1: Introduce your video report with a summary of the Dragon's Den episode you used for the assignment. Also, remember to mention the name of the course, the name of the college, the names of your group members and the date of the assignment.
2: Mention and explain one major problem which made the Dragons reject the business idea (i.e. Identify the main problem which the business owner should resolve).
3: Mention and analyze at least three alternative solutions which the entrepreneur(s) could use to address the problem identified in step 2 above. Remember to discuss at least two pros and two cons of each alternative solution you identify.
4. Discuss the best option of the three alternative solutions discussed in step Remember to have a strong/convincing argument to support your choice.
5: Discuss how the selected solution will be implemented.
In this section, you will discuss a breakdown of activities which you think the entrepreneur who was rejected by the dragons should follow/complete, in order to implement the best solution your group has chosen in 4 above. You may use the template provided in appendix 2 as a guide.
6: Explain how the implementation plan in step 5 will be evaluated/monitored. This evaluation schedule will show how the entrepreneur will keep track of the implementation activities. You may use the template provided in appendix 3 as a guide.
7: Provide a convincing conclusion in the video, explaining why the new solution/plan will help the business to be more successful. The conclusion should be in the form of a pitch which the entrepreneur can use to persuade the Dragons for a second chance.
8: Add all the sections in a coherent manner, with each part clearly discussed.
