Activity: case study
Laura tells you Dave is the only son of Barry and Margaret, now separated, and was expected to stay on the farm. Dave does not want to be a farmer, is instead completing a mechanics apprenticeship in town. Dave's younger sister, Wendy, 16, is at school, lives with Margaret in town.
Laura's own father, Matt, died in a tractor accident when she was 4yo and her mother, Paula continues to farm their land on a property of 60km away. Laura left school at 16 to work in a chemist shop in town before having Chloe. Laura has an older sister, Rebecca, 24, who is nursing in Wellington. They get on well but visits from Rebecca are infrequent.
Get into groups, draw a genogram of Laura and Dave's family.
