The objective of this assignment is to develop a detailed research report on a case study, which should be relevant to the area of Strategy analysis and Strategy intent (resources, capabilities, competitive advantage, formulation and industry analysis) in the UAE context. This will test students' rational reasoning, knowledge and analytical skill as well as clarity of concepts in achieving learning outcomes.
Students should use the established frameworks related to different types of resources, capabilities, competitive advantage, and business unit analysis and support their strategic analysis with comprehensive and critical review of the company's strategic decisions (using the VRIO criteria, Porte's five forces, SWOT/TWOS, and Resource-based view). Keep in mind that a good and critical analysis of the company's success should be accurately framed, focused, informative and well structured.

Develop a detailed research report on a case study (Aramex) relevant to organizational resources, capabilities, competitive advantage, and strategic decisions and how these relate to the strategy positioning of the organization, using research analysis skills and knowledge acquired in class, and submit a detailed research report of 2,000 words. The report has to comply with the following requirements:
Critically analyse the strategic positioning of the company using the most significant theories/concepts/tools relevant to the question.
Challenge the company's strategic decisions regarding COVID-19 pandemic using appropriate strategic analytical tools and determine whether the company was well set up to face this unexpected situation.
Using appropriate concepts and tools, formulate strategic alternatives and strategic orientations that would provide and strengthen the company's competitive advantage and strategic positioning for the long-term.
