However, over time, a company’s socially responsible actions can attract customers and build long-term customer loyalty. Can you think of an example of a company that has profited by being “socially responsible?” Is this belief at the core of the company’s values, or does it seem that the company is being “socially responsible” in order to gain a marketing advantage? Please explain in 150-300 words.
2. Socially responsible companies can certainly demonstrate social responsibility by “turning a profit” and taking care of their employees. However, many companies also demonstrate a commitment to their local communities. These community initiatives can include: financing health-related activities, demonstrating recycling efforts, and promoting environmentally healthy waste disposal efforts. However, a socially responsible corporate culture often includes a corporate wide-employee commitment to their environment. As such, socially responsibility companies continually encourage their employees to act in ways that benefit the overall health of the communities in which they serve. Can you think of any corporate marketing campaigns that have demonstrated a company’s commitment to social responsibility? Please explain in 150-300 words.
