The reaction paper should be between one and three pages long, you will demonstrate an understanding of national political parties. You will then highlight a minor/third party from the past or currently operating in the American Political System. Finally, differentiate between the Party in the Electorate, the Party Organization, and the Party in Government. The three points below will outline your paper. Articles in journals or news sources, the "Texas Government 2.0" textbook, and scholarly resources can be used to support your original work. Information for the videos will be helpful with responses to the third question below.

APA formatting will guide the citation, reference, and style of the paper.

1) Profile one of 4 "third-party" movements or select another party in Texas history. In your response identify the ideology that parties stand for, popular candidates, and any success with influencing policy decision and legislation. Clearly identify the purpose of the selected party. (at least 200 words)

2.) (Identify a total of 2 items on Party Platforms)

Discuss 1 policy that you agree with from the Texas Republican Party's party platform and 1 policy that you agree with from the Texas Democratic Party's platform, and why. If there are no parts of the platform with which you agree, identify one idea to which you are opposed (and indicate why). (at least 200 words)

3.) Texas typically has very low voter turnout when compared to the other fifty states. Explain how political parties in Texas "Get out the vote." Would proportional representation get out more voters in Texas? Is there a version of proportional representation mentioned in the vidoes that would be effective? A BRIEF PARAGRAPH.
