Students are nearing the completion of their first clinical course in the MSN/FNP program. Students are expected to have yet to achieve all program or professional organization goals or objectives; however, students need to reflect on the objectives achieved thus far.

Students are to:

Question A. Review the course description and objectives listed below.

Identify and discuss (minimum of 2 pages) the two discussions/pearls completed this semester that assisted you most in meeting the current course objectives and moved you toward the goals of the Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner role. Question D. Propose and discuss (minimum of 1 page) one new forum and one new assignment you recommend for future use in this course to assist students in understanding the current and potential roles of the FNP working with the adult population.

Student Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Question A. Perform and accurately document problem-focused and comprehensive health histories and physicals on patients across the lifespan for health promotion, disease prevention, and acute, chronic, and genetic conditions.

Question B. Integrate assessment findings to propose and prioritize differential diagnoses, interpret laboratory and diagnostic findings, and suggest pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment plans considering the costs, risks, and benefits to individual patients across the lifespan and their families.

Question C. Demonstrate effective communication and collaborative skills withintra-professional and interprofessional teams to critique current practice/management protocols, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologicoptions for patients, families, and communities.

Question D. Demonstrate advanced levels of clinical judgment, systems thinking and accountability in recommending, delivering, and evaluating evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes in acute and chronic conditions across the lifespan.
