Duplex Feasibility Study
This is a bullet point summary of one suggested approach. It is a guide only. You refer to the official handout for all details.
1. Select your regional centre with more than 10,000 people - but not a suburb of a capital city.
What you need to do;buy land, build a duplex and sell the completed package for as much as the market will bear.
2. Find prices (see below) for; a) land, b) building a duplex and c) sale price of duplex's in the area you chose.
3. The allocated budget is $800,000. You need to buy land and build a duplex for that amount or less. Then sell at market price which should be above what it cost you.
4. Be aware of the checks and balances in the market place. The lower the duplex costs to build, usually means the lower you can sell it for.
Where to find information? Some suggestions, but there are other sources;a)Australian Bureau of Statistics,b) the local Council documentation and website,c) local real estate agents - check their websites, d) Domain.com, e) local builder's websites to find price of building a duplex, f) others
Hint: always check the website before contacting the person.
Bonus Free Hint: Find out the meanings of all terms in the Kaplan templates primarily from the internet, or else the industry experts you contact. Use these terms appropriately.
