You have just concluded an investigation, confirmed that an employee is guilty of serious theft from your firm, and have determined to discharge him. When informed of your findings, the employee continues to deny his guilt and threatens to sue, but he also offers to resign, claiming it will save both him and the company time and trouble. Summarize the reasons for and against agreeing to such a resolution. Would it matter if he also demanded a month's severance pay?

Rev. Hatmaker clearly had serious problems working under Rev. Stafford. Few employers would want to continue a working relationship that is so fraught with problems. That said, do you view the actions taken by the Medical Center as appropriate?
