Question

EHRs are real-time, patient-centred records that deliver critical information instantly and securely to authorised users. A 'medical and treatment history' is not necessarily an essential part of an EHR, although an EHR can certainly include a patient's medical and treatment history. Nor is an EHR system necessarily built only to allow the recording and accessing of the traditional, narrowly-focused clinical data obtained in a typical provider's office. An EHR system can be far more encompassing and broadly inclusive of caring for a patient.
